Job Summary:
Join our team as an Assistant Distribution Center Manager. You’ll oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, lead and support staff, and ensure inventory accuracy and safety standards are met. Partnering with the Distribution Manager, you’ll help drive efficiency, optimize workflows, and keep the distribution center running smoothly.
Essential Responsibilities:
Scheduling & Team Coordination
Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate warehouse coverage and efficient operations.
Training & Development
Train, mentor, and support warehouse personnel to ensure adherence to operational procedures, safety standards, and best practices.
Receiving & Shipping Operations
Oversee daily receiving and shipping activities to ensure timely, accurate processing of incoming and outgoing inventory.
Inventory Management & Accuracy
Conduct regular inventory counts and audits, investigate discrepancies, and troubleshoot issues to maintain accurate stock levels.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Assign tasks, provide direction, and support warehouse team members while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Operational Efficiency
Optimize warehouse workflows by supporting layout improvements, monitoring equipment maintenance, and ensuring efficient loading and unloading processes.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensure proper use of PPE, and maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Basic computer proficiency
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
High school diploma or equivalent
Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide warehouse staff
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Solid knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics processes, and safety standards
