Reporting to the Commercial Planning Manager, you will be trained to:

  • Produce efficient time, duty and rota schedules that provide a good work balance and consider the fatigue impact.
  • Ensure that all scheduling agreements are adhered to and that the needs of Transport for London (TfL) and the Company are understood and considered.
  • Ensure that all documentation, statistics and records are produced and maintained accurately to the satisfaction of the Company and TfL.
  • Upload duty and rota information into both external and internal computer systems for the purpose of Service Control and Duty Allocation.
  • Provide information to senior management and investigate and prepare alternatives in answer to union comments.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership and Garage Management teams to ensure that the schedules produced meet, and where possible exceed, the standard specified as our Minimum Performance Standard
  • Prepare estimates for service changes and tenders.
  • Analyse the running time proposals and their effects.
  • Assist with the planning for the Commercial Operations team, including rail replacement, special events and other Commercial Operations
  • Represent the department at Garage Forums or roadshows and engage with colleagues, responding to questions where necessary.

Candidates must have the aptitude for detail, be highly numerate, and ideally have worked in the bus industry or similar. Experience of a computer scheduling system such as Austrix, Omnibus, Optibus, Hastus or Trapeze would be an advantage, although training would be provided.
