Our Merchandise team works with supplier partners and store teams on category ranging, buying, pricing and promotions so we can get the right products on the right shelves at the right time for our customers.
Te Tūranga – About the role
We’re looking for an Assistant Category Manager – Butchery to join our motivated team. This role is all about keeping things moving – from daily chicken order processing to supporting stores and suppliers. You’ll be a go-to person for accurate order management and proactive communication, helping us deliver on our promise to customers.
· Process daily chicken orders for all retail stores and ensure fulfilment across the network
· Input costs and volumes into systems for seamless order transfer
· Allocate supplier volumes accurately and help resolve supply challenges
· Communicate with stores on supply and order updates and assist as required
· Contribute to continuous improvement projects

You’re detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy working with data, solving problems, and building strong relationships.
· Experience in order processing or a store/supplier background (Fresh experience a bonus)
· Strong analytical and numerical skills; comfortable with large data sets
· Excellent planning and communication skills – both written and verbal
· Ability to work under pressure and manage early morning starts
· A positive, solutions-focused mindset and collaborative working style
