Ruder Finn’s Technology & Innovation Practice is seeking a motivated, curious, and energetic Assistant Account Executive to join our team supporting a diverse portfolio of B2B technology clients. Our clients range from Fortune 500 enterprise leaders to fast-growing AI startups shaping the future of technology. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career at the intersection of communications and innovation, working across sectors including AI infrastructure, data and cloud services, enterprise platforms, and emerging technologies.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in media relations, content development, client service, and industry research, all while learning directly from and being mentored by senior team members who are committed to supporting your professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day client account management and serve as a reliable team contributor

  • Assist in planning and executing media relations programs, including researching reporters, drafting pitch materials, and tracking coverage

  • Develop and maintain targeted media lists across technology and business outlets

  • Assist in drafting and editing written materials such as media pitches, backgrounders, executive briefs, client communications, award submissions, bylines, and reports

  • Conduct industry and competitive research to inform strategy and identify opportunities

  • Monitor media trends and stay informed on developments in AI, enterprise technology, and related sectors

  • Help coordinate client meetings, timelines, and project deliverables

  • Maintain organized records of media outreach, coverage, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field

  • Internship or relevant experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred

  • Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn

  • Interest in technology, innovation, and business trends

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $45,000 – $53,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, internal equity, geography, relevant years of experience, certifications, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications. In addition, a range of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available by the company.
