ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

TelevisaUnivision Local Media is seeking an accomplished Assignment News Desk Editor to join our dynamic team in Sacramento. As an Assignment News Desk Editor position, you will be responsible for managing story assignments, coordinating coverage and logistics, responding to breaking new, and helping with the overall production of our newscasts. We're looking for creative thinkers who can conceptualize interactive projects for broadcast and online platforms.

ABOUT YOU:
If you thrive in fast-paced environments, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, and excel in editorial judgment and time management, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will be a proficient communicator, well-versed in current events, and adept at utilizing tools such as I-News, social media, and emerging technologies. You should be comfortable working under pressure, including weekends, holidays, and overnights when necessary.

YOUR DAY-DAY:
•    Collaborate with producers to research, verify, plan, and develop story ideas and drive breaking news.
•    Distribute information to the news team to ensure accurate reporting.
•    Assign reporters, and photographers to news stories and special projects.
•    Conduct editorial meetings to coordinate daily, weekly, and future story coverage.
•    Serve as a liaison with other news organizations, community contacts, and UTG assignment desks.
•    Monitor news wires, social media, and other platforms to mobilize breaking news and content.

YOU HAVE:
•    Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
•    Detail-oriented, organized, and disciplined with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
•    Creative, engaged, and assertive with a keen understanding of social media, video, and current events.
