About the Role
Alcoa's WA Mining operations are undergoing significant expansion, and we are building a new team of highly detail-oriented and experienced Asset Health Mine Controllers and Relief Asset Health Mine Controllers at the centralised Huntly Mining Operating centre.
We are actively recruiting for multiple vacancies for these integral roles, which serve as the first responder for system and machine issues, ensuring the efficiency, safety, and data integrity of our critical mining processes. This position will be offered on a 12-hour Production roster, reporting to the Mine Control Superintendent.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess the ability to manage multiple complex systems simultaneously, this is your opportunity to play a pivotal part in operational excellence.
Your primary function is to support strategic decisions by multiple functional roles. You will achieve this by ensuring accurate capturing and reporting of earth-moving equipment and light vehicle defects and breakdowns, managing real-time fatigue alerts, and coordinating asset response during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities include:
Manage and monitor key mining systems like Push to Talk (two-way communication) and Nexus (noise monitoring). You will set blast and emergency geofences, ensure correct radio etiquette, and modify Nexus to reflect shift activities and prevent noise exceedance.
Serve as the first responder for operator-related fatigue events. You will follow up on Fatigue Alerts from the Remote Centre (RMC) in accordance with policy and provide immediate feedback to Shift Supervisors regarding any distraction incidents.
Utilise the Push to Talk process to respond to emergency calls. You will coordinate with the Fire Captain/ESO to ensure the correct and efficient deployment of Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and assets.
Receive, record, and log all maintenance breakdowns and defects for all earth-moving equipment and Light Vehicles (LVs). You will liaise directly with Mobile Maintenance Supervisors and LV Workshop Supervisors to ensure appropriate action is taken.
Maintain the integrity of the mine model within the FMS (Mine Operate environment). You will ensure all system faults (Nexus, Push to Talk) are escalated as per procedure to minimise impact on production.
