Job Description:
The Asset Accountant performs fixed, leased and capital assets accounting relating to creating manual journal entries, reviewing/approving assets, calculating depreciations, posting journal entries, and creating standardized reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities
Fixed Assets Accounting
Review and approve additions, journal entries, disposal and transfers
Manage the physical asset verification process and reconcile to FA ledger
Calculate depreciation and post relevant journal entries
Analyze and verify fixed asset movement reporting
Intangible Assets Accounting
Review and approve additions, journal entries, disposal and transfers
Capital Assets Accounting
Manage creation of project in system, track and approve expenses against the project budget
Oversight of invoice posting and tagging of employee expenses to the appropriate project number
Create manual journal entries for adjustments and expenses (non- employee or missing invoices)
Process and post relevant manual journal entries for adjustment
Develop plans to improve accounting processes and minimize future exceptions
Leased Assets Accounting
Work with external lease contractor (Cushman) to oversee the lease renewal process, monitor treatment, and transactional posting
Set-up manual lease and payment schedule for manual leases
Record monthly lease accounting journal entries ( payment, interest, depreciation and expenses)
Create standardized reporting based on stakeholder requirements & resolve inquiries
Reporting
Develop reporting for fixed, capital and lease assets for input into financial statements and note disclosures
Additional
Provide general close support / accruals
General ledger reconciliations
Education and/or Experience Required
Undergraduate degree in Business (preferably Accounting or Finance) with 2+ years of experience in accounting & financial functions
Relevant Certifications: CPA or others and/or working towards completion

Ability to multi-task and manage a workload with competing deadlines and priorities
Critical thinking skills
Accurate, organized and attention to details
Confidence and assertiveness to enforce the financial guidelines while still maintain rapport
Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills to work with all types and levels of people inside and external to the organization
Advance computer skills (Excel, Word) in order to create all spreadsheets, formulas and linking; create own confidential correspondence
Ability to deal with confidential information that may not be shared inside and outside the organization.
Passion to provide excellent customer service

Expected Pay Range:
58K-62K Year
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
