Job Title: Artist Strategy Manager

A little bit about our team:

At Warner Music Australasia, we are dedicated to the long-term career growth of our domestic artists. Our Artist Strategy team works at the center of the label, connecting the dots between A&R, creative, and commercial teams to bring an artist’s vision to life. This role is a key part of our leadership structure, helping to guide the wider marketing team and ensuring that every project we touch has a clear, insight-led path to success. You’ll be working with a passionate group of specialists who value collaboration, creative thinking, and a fan-first approach.

Your role:

As an Artist Strategy Manager, you are responsible for the architectural planning and successful execution of marketing campaigns for our domestic roster. You will act as a strategist and a primary point of contact for artists and their managers, translating creative ideas into actionable, long-term plans. This role is about balance: you’ll be managing high-level budgets and timelines one hour, and brainstorming visual "world-building" with our creative leads the next. It is a position designed for a seasoned marketer who understands that breaking an artist requires both rigorous data analysis and a deep intuition for culture.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, long-lead marketing strategies (3–6 months) that align with the artist’s brand and our commercial goals.

  • Serve as a collaborator for artists and managers, ensuring their creative vision is supported by the full weight of the label’s resources.

  • Oversee complex project lifecycles, from the initial rollout of a single to the global coordination of an album release.

  • Brief and manage data-driven paid advertising campaigns, ensuring budgets are used efficiently to reach the right audiences.

  • Partner with our Head of Creative to develop distinct visual identities and content that resonate across social and digital platforms.

  • Monitor consumption data and industry trends daily, using insights from DSPs and internal tools to optimise campaign performance.

  • Lead e-commerce and D2C strategies, identifying opportunities for exclusive products that drive chart positions and fan engagement.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the broader marketing team, acting as a deputy to the Head of Domestic Artist Strategy on operational matters.

About you:

  • You have at least 5 years of manager-level marketing experience within the music industry, a record label, or a high-level creative environment.

  • You are passionate about the ANZ music landscape and have a deep understanding of how different audiences discover and engage with new music.

  • You enjoy building and maintaining strong professional relationships, especially when navigating the needs of artists, managers, and internal stakeholders.

  • You are highly organised and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage a high-volume roster and meet tight deadlines without losing focus.

  • You have a strong grasp of marketing financials, including experience planning, managing, and reconciling significant project budgets.

  • You possess excellent communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to present strategic plans clearly and persuasively.

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Background in music touring or publishing.

  • Experience using industry tools like Chartmetric, Soundcharts, or project management apps like Asana.

  • A strong interest in how emerging technologies, including AI, are impacting music marketing and fan discovery.
