The AI Office within BlackRock Global Markets is a function focused on transforming our businesses with the use of AI, with 3 specific goals : scaling the investment process to increase productivity, generating insights for performance and identifying revenue opportunities to grow our business. We will achieve these goals by delivering on a cohesive AI strategy for BGM, helping drive prioritization and governance and connecting with partners across the Firm  on AI initiatives. Also critical is the acceleration of our execution plans for AI, helping run pilots and proof of concepts to final deployed products and the incubation of AI DNA into BGM, bringing in new skills to make us better technologists and help amplify our collective impact. Within the AI office, we are looking to setup an AI Engineering team, specifically focused on scaling AI Research to production quality products and solutions 

 

Job Purpose/Background: 

The BGM AI office is looking for a strong individual contributor to help with the establishment of the AI Engineering team  whose primary job responsibilities include working with the Research and Business teams to understand specific goals and deliverables and working to convert initial research to end state products/solutions that can be deployed to production. The team will focus on partnering with central functions to build on Firm provided platforms and frameworks. The work will also involve building a reusable toolkit for use by in-business partners and helping raise the AI skillset for all of BGM. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build AI engineering solutions, both LLM and ML based and ensure production quality design and deployment 

  • Partner with Research teams across BGM to take proof of concepts to products and solutions 

  • Create common tools and platform solutions that can be useful across multiple BGM use cases, leveraging and adapting Firm technology where applicable e.g. trustworthy AI, model testing, pdf parsing tools  

  • Work with BGM’s data engineering teams to source new datasets for AI modeling and prepare existing ones for AI use 

  • Work with BLK’s central AI office and other AI-forward teams at BlackRock, especially in Investment organizations to identify synergies and opportunities to partner 

  • Create alignment and help build a community with AI, Research and data teams in Gurgaon and within BGM globally 

 

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in the Financial services industry in an Engineering role that requires knowledge of investment workflows and products 

  • Bachelor’s level education with a focus on engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics or related fields 

  • Experience with creating production-quality software based on research 

  • Experience with emerging LLM offerings from industry leaders 

  • Experience in python & related framework/libraries 

  • Experience with data engineering (ETLs) and analytical tools (Tableau, PowerBI etc.) 

  • Experience in modeling including machine learning, econometrics / statistical analysis and various optimization techniques 

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
