Area Financial Controller

Malaysia - Petaling Jaya Full time

The Financial Controller is responsible for producing results at consolidated level as a Market / Area part of the International region, analysing results and providing key highlights to the Head of Finance and Finance team to support the regional strategy. The role also works and interact very closely with the FD(s) and Finance teams of the Market(s).    

The role requires high quality standards delivering right first-time reporting and analysis which are insightful and supports the business to develop accurate plans while keeping a strong control environment.

Given the nature of the role and coverage within the international region time zone, a high level of flexibility and adjustment is required to fulfil the requirements of a such critical role.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide continuous support to the Head of Finance and Regional Finance Team in consolidating and analysing the financial performance of the Market / Area.

  • Producing and presenting consolidated financial results for the Market / Area on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis based on requirements received from Corporate.

  • Participating & contributing into Market / Area / Regional business reviews meetings as appropriate;

  • Managing Market / Area Operating Expenditure and all reporting requirements (including OE & Headcount Reporting);

  • Quarterly SOX requirements including Judgement Reporting, Intangible impairments, Legal provisions and Significant contracts. 

  • Ensure entities results are fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice, and any other regulation;

  • Execute Control activities that operate in line with global processes and incorporate best practices in terms of financial controls;

  • Dealing with Internal and External auditors where required;

  • Delivers insights to the Area / Region / Segment in key areas of risks, growth and performance by making recommendations for continuous improvements and remediating actions as required;

  • Drive projects at C&C, Area, Regional and Global level as appropriate;

  • Actively engage and interface with the One Finance team (C&C, P&F, Embedded Finance, Tax, Supply Chain, Corporate etc.);

Qualifications requirements:

  • Accounting degree and/or qualification (ACA, CGMA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • Finance Controlling and Planning / Finance Partnering experience (min. 10 years)

  • Experience of working with SOX requirements  

  • Very familiar in working with systems such as SAP, Bison, Vista, Power BI, Lumira.

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent communication and organization skills. Able to manage and present to senior stakeholders at different levels.

  • High level of analytical skills. 

  • Outside of the box thinking and pro-active problem-solving skills
