Job Description Summary

We're hiring for an Area Director in our Asset Finance business, to lead the Sales team in our Midlands, North West and Wales region!

Asset Finance is part of our Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) proposition and delivers a vital lending solution to clients, supporting business investment and cashflow; aligned to the strategy of Helping Britain Prosper.

Asset Finance compliments other products offered to help clients with their Working Capital needs, including Merchant Services, Payments, Trade Finance and Invoice Finance.

The Asset Finance Team plays a key part of our BCB solution for many trading businesses and is a growth product both within Lloyds Banking Group and the UK generally, making this an exciting area to develop a career!

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this Opportunity:


We're now looking for an Area Director - Asset Finance Sales to work across our Midlands, North West & Wales region. Reporting to the Managing Director, Asset Finance Sales you'll be responsible for driving Asset Finance new business. This will include leading, coaching & developing a Sales team to achieve a series of financial and non financial measures as well as contributing to the strategic planning and delivery of the Asset Finance team. In this strategic sales leadership role, you'll have an excellent opportunity to develop a team. You'll use your strong external network and understanding of the asset finance product, to support development of the proposition as well as deliver against key performance objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and motivating a team of office and field based salespeople, to deliver asset finance products to both existing and new clients and achieve both financial and non-financial targets

  • Build & manage key stakeholder relationships - both internal (Coverage/Risk/Product/Operations) and external (Clients/KBIs/Brokers).

  • Collaborate effectively across SCS to assist in product development, identifying/mitigating risk and enabling wider product and business transformation as we grow.

  • Build and maintain an effective external network to ensure maximisation of opportunity across all channels. Ensure common goals and strategic alignment with the wider Group to drive product offerings into our client base.

  • Grow product penetration by effectively introducing suitable, additional LBG products to Asset Finance clients.

  • Provide effective feedback to team members to assist them in their in role development and future ambitions.

What we’re looking for?

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Asset Finance is essential.

  • Sales Leadership experience – previous line management experience, or experience in coaching, development, performance management.

  • Strong communication and partnering skills with experience in building and managing relationships with clients and influential partners.

  • Credit Analysis – Strong commercial reasoning skills with the ability to assess, analyse and interpret financial information.

  • Strong presentational skills including the ability to communicate with and influence key customers.

  • A desire to realise the potential in others, deliver excellent client service and drive growth of our wider business.
