What You Will Do
- Contribute to architectural deliverables on projects, working with Design Director(s) and project team(s) for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
- Support and collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
- Contribute to resolution of complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
- Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs
- Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler
- Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- 6-8 years of relevant architecture and design experience within a commercial design firm
- Ideal candidate will have experience with multiple building typologies of varying scale, including commercial office and mixed-use buildings, residential, master planning, sports and entertainment venues and repositioning projects.
- Must be proficient in Revit and the Adobe Suite. Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max and VRay is a plus.
- Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes and the design process
- Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking skills and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Creativity Initiator that brings curiosity, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude.
- Organization, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
