Why Work for Aurora?
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Looking for a job that keeps you moving and requires actual skill? If the thought of working indoors feels like a slow leak in your soul, we might have the perfect gig for you as an Arborist Climbing Technician 🌳.
This role is not a casual stroll through the park; it's a physically demanding job. Think of it as running a vertical marathon while carrying your tools. We are seeking the kind of person who sees a tree not just as wood and leaves, but as a giant, living puzzle that needs expert, production-focused care.
You'll be the one we trust to swing high, using industry-accepted rope and saddle techniques to keep our urban forest healthy and looking sharp. You will be climbing trees, performing basic rigging and lowering techniques, and operating necessary machinery like the aerial lift. You are crucial in making sure we maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
Sometimes, you’ll even act as a crew leader on volunteer projects or explain our forestry standards to citizens, so bring your A-game communication skills. And when the weather gets "interesting"—meaning sometimes hazardous ⛈️—you'll be out there too, often performing 24-hour emergency storm response and snow removal duties.
If you can handle continuous heavy physical work, prefer the sights and smells of the outdoors, and are ready to tackle tough tasks that require physical endurance, read on. Come help us ensure our city's trees look like champions 🏆, not like they just rolled out of bed.
