Course Description: This course provides an overview of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies from a civil engineering perspective. It explores the role of civil engineers in designing and implementing sustainable infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions and enhance resilience against climate-related challenges. This course equips future civil engineers with the necessary skills to adapt infrastructure to climate risks and implement mitigation techniques. Case studies and real-world applications will be used to demonstrate the integration of these solutions into civil engineering practice. Through case studies and real-world applications, students learn to bridge traditional engineering with innovative solutions, ensuring they contribute to sustainable development in an evolving climate landscape.
