Location: Regina Commercial Claims. The successful candidate will be 100% in office. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Work Schedule: The successful candidate will be expected to work an extended hours schedule on a rotational basis. During extended hours, schedule will be Full time, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Appraiser is responsible for examining and evaluating vehicle condition and estimating actual cash value of vehicles and equipment for the purpose of determining a total loss or a repair. The Appraiser also examines damaged vehicles for the purpose of determining unit repair costs. The Appraiser uses judgement in the approval process and determination of total repair costs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Appraisal Review
Identifies make and model of vehicle and records vehicle details.
Inspects, diagnoses, analyses and lists damaged vehicle parts, determining if damage is accident related.
Determines depreciation on damaged vehicle parts.
Determines and evaluates vehicle condition and estimates actual cash value of vehicles and equipment, for the purpose of determining a total loss or a repair.
Codes labour time and parts required for repair, paint, or replacement for input to automated system.
Interprets flat rate manuals to determine replacement times and paint times as required.
Determines repair, frame and painting times not covered by the flat rate manuals.
Discusses and explains appraisal details to customers, adjusters and the Special Investigation Unit.
Liaises with auto body and mechanical repair shops reviewing appraisal discrepancies and/or problems.
Approves additions to repair accounts if required.
Conducts in progress repair reviews.
Prepares estimates and supplements heavy trucks and trailers, recreation vehicles and specialty items.

Advanced knowledge of SGI appraisal policies, procedures and programs.
Advanced knowledge of automotive vehicle construction, repair and mechanical operations.
Advanced knowledge of OEM and industry repair processes and procedures for new and emerging vehicle technologies.
Advanced knowledge of flat rate manuals related to all vehicle makes.
Advanced knowledge of automotive estimating, including sheet metal, refinishing work and frame damage estimating.
Advanced level skill in estimating damage of various types of light vehicles, including recreational vehicles.
Proficient level skill in estimating damage of various types of commercial vehicles.
Fundamental knowledge of SGI auto adjusting policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A motor vehicle body repairer journeypersons certificate.
Platinum I-CAR certification.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE
5 - 7 years’ directly related industry experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort and Environment: Majority of time spent in a typical work environment with occasional and/or mild exposure to unpleasant conditions which may include noise and noxious odours, and light physical effort which may include climbing ladders and light lifting. Driving within city limits and/or some long-distance highway driving.
Sensory Attention: Occasional periods of concentration is required.
Mental Stress: Moderate exposure to one or more mental pressures.
