The role

  • Provide front-line support for the Sentinel label printing system, ensuring reliable operation in high-volume, industrial settings.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues across industrial printers, minimizing production downtime.
  • Maintain and update label templates, label library and business logic to meet changing operational or compliance needs.
  • Support the integration of Sentinel with enterprise systems (ERP, MES, SCADA) to enable automated label generation and tracking.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure smooth label operations across the shop floor.
  • Implement and validate configuration changes, software updates, and enhancements in accordance with change control procedures.
  • Ensure labeling processes meet quality and compliance standards, including traceability, safety markings, and asset identification.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures, user guides, and system configurations for internal support continuity.
  • Monitor system performance, logs, and data flows to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in support rotation and respond to critical issues during production hours or planned shutdowns.

 

What you’ll bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in an application support or IT operations role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CODESOFT Sentinel or comparable enterprise labeling solutions.
  • Familiarity with barcode symbologies, industrial label printers, and printing standards used in manufacturing and logistics.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and how they interface with labeling or production systems.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills in Windows Server environments, print servers, and networked devices.
  • Basic scripting or query skills (e.g., XML, SQL) to manage template logic and data validation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to work across technical and operational teams.
  • Experience supporting applications in heavy asset industries such as steel, aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES) or SCADA platforms.
  • Understanding of safety and regulatory labeling requirements relevant to heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of system validation or compliance practices (e.g., ISO, OSHA labeling standards).
