The Design Engineer is responsible for design studies and concept studies and will serve as a liaison between BorgWarner engineering, vendors and customers to ensure product designs.
Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Communication with application engineers or others for CAD requests.
- Perform CAD work on Catia as a standard CAD environment in BorgWarner.
- Check the 3D model per request. - Perform tolerance stack-up analysis if necessary.
- Dimensional or installation checks review with design leaders or requesters before release.
- Support customers on site if needed for packaging study.
- Support suppliers for parts structure, dimension and manufacturability.
- Strictly abide the EHS rules and regulations and behavior guideline in the plant; wear PPE in right way; actively participate in EHS training; do housekeeping at work; report accidents and unsafe issues immediately join the accident disposal. Specific presentation can be reached in TMS system and individual job description.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

- Integrate low-carbon and energy-saving technologies into the product design phase, prioritizing the use of green materials.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
- Experienced in mechanical design, 3-D modeling, and drawing releases
- Experienced in CAD tools, Expert of Catia - Solid background in mechanical engineering design, material science
- Familiar with manufacturing methods (tooling), especially Aluminum/Iron casting and stainless steel stamping technology
- Familiar with GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis
- Good communication skill in English and Chinese (written and spoken)
- CET 4
- 3 years + working experience in automobile industry
