What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Global Wires and Payment Technology department which is part of Enterprise Payments Technology. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the new case management application on the Appian platform, supporting key integrations, and ensuring compliance with SWIFT standards. The developer will collaborate closely with business, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions aligned with business objectives and strategic initiatives to build in-house expertise and reduce vendor reliance.

How you'll succeed

  • Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions. 

  • Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.

  • Leadership skills - Act as a team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in Application Development with at least 5+ years of experience in Appian application development and integration Participate in the analysis, design, and development of Appian-based applications. Create and maintain applications using Appian Business Process Modeling frameworks. Build interfaces, process flows, expressions, data types, sites, and integrations. Validate solutions against best design practices and perform rapid prototyping for business feedback. Conduct Appian-specific performance tuning and ensure scalability. Build and maintain Appian plugins and embedded interfaces. Implement best practices for teamwork within a low-code environment. Optimize expressions and data usage for high-performance interfaces. Apply good User Experience practices across application plans. Strong understanding of business process modeling and low-code development. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience with performance tuning, production support, and environment management. Knowledge of SWIFT ISO 20022 standards and payment operations workflows is an asset. Manage SCM activities for interface partners. Oversee environment management and SWIFT mandatory releases.
