Position Overview The APAC Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive HSE programs across Jones Lang LaSalle's Asia-Pacific operations. This strategic leadership role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in HSE performance across diverse market environments. Key Responsibilities Strategic HSE Leadership Develop and execute regional HSE strategy aligned with global standards and local regulatory requirements across APAC markets. Lead the integration of HSE considerations into business operations, property management, project delivery, and client services. Establish measurable HSE performance metrics and reporting frameworks to track progress and identify improvement opportunities. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations across all APAC jurisdictions. Conduct regular HSE audits and assessments of JLL-managed properties, construction sites, and facilities. Identify and assess HSE risks, developing mitigation strategies and emergency response protocols. Maintain current knowledge of evolving HSE legislation and industry best practices across the region. Program Development and Implementation Design and deploy HSE training programs, toolkits, and resources tailored to regional needs and cultural contexts. Implement incident investigation processes, root cause analysis methodologies, and corrective action tracking systems. Develop contractor safety management programs and vendor qualification procedures. Create sustainability initiatives that support environmental objectives and ESG commitments. Stakeholder Engagement and Culture Building Partner with business line leaders, country managers, and operational teams to embed HSE excellence into daily operations. Build relationships with clients, demonstrating JLL's HSE capabilities and value proposition. Foster a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, employee participation programs, and recognition initiatives. Communicate HSE performance, incidents, and best practices to regional and global stakeholders. Team Leadership Lead and develop a team of HSE professionals distributed across APAC markets. Provide coaching, technical guidance, and professional development opportunities. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between HSE, operations, legal, and HR teams. Required Qualifications Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred). Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH International Diploma, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent regional credentials. ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certifications preferred. Experience Minimum 10-12 years of progressive HSE experience, with at least 5 years in regional leadership roles. Demonstrated experience managing HSE programs across multiple countries and regulatory environments. Strong background in commercial real estate, facilities management, or construction sectors. Proven track record of implementing cultural change and improving HSE performance metrics. Technical Competencies Deep knowledge of APAC HSE regulations, standards, and enforcement practices across key markets. Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, and HSE management systems. Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, GRESB, CDP). Proficiency in HSE software platforms and data analytics tools. Skills and Attributes Exceptional leadership and influencing skills with ability to drive change across matrixed organizations. Strong business acumen with ability to align HSE initiatives with commercial objectives. Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences and senior stakeholders. Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across APAC's diverse markets. Strategic thinking combined with hands-on problem-solving capabilities. Willingness to travel extensively across the region (30-40%). Preferred Qualifications Experience working for multinational corporations or global real estate organizations. Bilingual capabilities (English plus Mandarin, Japanese, or other APAC languages). Background in both operational HSE roles and strategic program development. Track record of successful client-facing HSE consulting or advisory work.
