The Role

The Finance team at Bloomerang is a cross-functional partner driving forecasting, reporting, and data-informed strategic decisions across the business. We serve as the source of truth for key metrics delivered both internally and externally, and we’re ready to take the next step — building a centralized, trusted, and scalable data foundation.

We’re hiring an Analytics Developer to lead that effort. As the first data-focused hire within Finance, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, analytics, and strategic finance — designing the models, metrics, and semantic layer that power company-wide reporting and decision-making. You’ll partner closely with leaders across Finance, RevOps, Product, and more to translate key questions into reliable, reusable data assets that enable self-serve analytics and AI-ready insights.

The foundation you build will shape how we measure and communicate performance for years to come. We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, communicates clearly across functions, and combines technical skill with business context. You bring both precision and perspective — blending financial logic with operational understanding to balance quantitative rigor and strategic insight.

This is a foundational role, not just a technical one. You’ll define how our organization understands itself, establishing the systems and standards that give everyone — from executives to analysts — confidence in the numbers. If you’re motivated by impact, autonomy, and the chance to leave your mark on Bloomerang’s data architecture, this is a rare opportunity to build something lasting at scale.

What You Will Do

  • Build and own core data models in BigQuery using Dataform (Fivetran → BigQuery → Dataform stack) to create single sources of truth for customers, revenue, subscriptions, pipeline and usage.
  • Define and document key business metrics (ARR, retention, CAC, etc.) in a consistent, governed semantic layer.
  • Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to reconcile financial and operational metrics across systems like NetSuite, Salesforce, Pendo.
  • Ensure data quality and reliability by writing clean, efficient SQL and implementing testing, version control, and documentation standards.
  • Enable self-serve analytics by building reusable data assets and empowering teams to access trusted datasets without reinventing logic.
  • Contribute towards the buildout of AI and advanced analytics, ensuring data is structured, documented, and accessible for future use cases.
  • Establish scalable data modeling standards, including naming conventions, lineage documentation, and metric governance.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data analysis, with strong SQL expertise.
  • Proven ability to model and transform data in modern cloud warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Strong business acumen, ideally with experience in SaaS metrics, finance, or revenue operations – and an understanding of how data drives strategic decisions.
  • Familiarity with ELT pipelines (Fivetran, Stitch, Airbyte) and orchestration / version control tools (Git, dbt Cloud, etc.).
  • Experience implementing or working with a semantic layer (dbt Metrics, Cube, Looker, Transform, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills – able to translate between business logic and data design, influence senior stakeholders, and present insights clearly.
  • A strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship – you build scalable systems designed for others to use and trust.
  • A proactive problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, balancing quantitative rigor with strategic intuition.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining precision and clarity.
  • Collaborative, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Bonus points for experience with Finance data workflows, defining or governing enterprise metrics dictionaries, and curiosity about AI-driven analytics and natural language querying.
