What you bring:

In this Sanctions Programme Analyst role at MUFG, your proven experience in central compliance functions will allow you to thrive as you support complex regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. You bring an empathetic approach when working collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds—your interpersonal skills foster trust-based relationships that underpin successful project delivery. Your keen eye for detail means nothing escapes your notice; whether updating control registers or preparing meeting materials under pressure. You are dependable when managing competing priorities—always responding thoughtfully even during periods of high demand. If you have additional technical skills such as Python or hold relevant industry qualifications these will further enhance your contribution but above all it is your commitment to upholding ethical standards that sets you apart.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a central compliance function within banking or financial services is essential for this position.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of banking systems and controls designed to mitigate financial crime risks such as money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions breaches, bribery or corruption.

  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—and skilled report writing abilities are required for success in this role.

  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational skills enables you to manage priorities effectively while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • A broad understanding of financial crime risk—including sanctions risk—as well as anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-bribery/corruption (ABC) frameworks is necessary.

  • Familiarity with risk management concepts and control processes allows you to proactively identify improvements that enhance operational efficiency.

  • Outstanding communication skills enable you to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels across different regions.

  • Experience supporting or overseeing annual risk assessment processes within a regulated environment is highly desirable.

  • The ability to use Python or similar tools for data analysis would be advantageous but not mandatory; relevant qualifications are also preferred but not essential.
