Here is what you can expect as a Privacy Analyst at DaVita:

Reporting to the Director, Sr. Corporate Counsel, Privacy Attorney for DaVita’s Integrated Kidney Care (IKC) business, the Privacy Legal Analyst will be a key member of the Legal Privacy team. This teammate will work on investigating potential privacy incidents and assist IKC’s Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams by providing privacy coverage in the review of materials and initiatives submitted by the IKC business. The Privacy Legal Analyst will serve as a point of contact to help address privacy-related issues and will work closely with other Privacy Teammates in all Privacy lanes (Privacy Legal, Engineering, and Program Management & Governance). As part of DaVita’s Privacy Team, the Legal Privacy Analyst will support the furtherance of privacy initiatives in conjunction with DaVita IKC operations.

DaVita IKC is responsible for enabling integrated kidney care for both DaVita dialysis patients and non-DaVita ESKD and CKD patients. By partnering with health plans, the government, health systems, and nephrologists, DaVita IKC measurably improves clinical outcomes, enhances the patient experience, and reduces the total cost of care for renal populations participating in its integrated care programs.

The DaVita in-house legal team is known as the “Justice League.” The Justice League comprises over 280 attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals who counsel all businesses of DaVita and provide legal support for all transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the investigation process for potential privacy incidents stemming from DaVita and IKC operations, or identified through Privacy Office monitoring activities.
  • Assist in the privacy review of materials, projects, and new initiatives to support DaVita IKC operations by analyzing risk based on privacy policies, principles and best practices.
  • Participate in committees, projects, and other workgroups in support of DaVita IKC operations.
  • Manage intake and triage of contracts for privacy legal review.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of privacy laws and regulations applicable to DaVita IKC operations and the healthcare industry, such as HIPAA.
  • Assist on special projects with other privacy team members to advance the program’s maturity.
  • Support development and privacy review of DaVita IKC and other enterprise applications by analyzing risk based on privacy and security policies, principles and best practices in accordance with federal, local, and international privacy laws and regulations.
  • Travel required: Minimal (approximately 5%).

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a health care, technology, or business discipline.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Experience or certification in HIPAA, privacy, or security is preferred.
  • Experience relating to compliance with state and federal privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, state breach notification laws) is preferred.
  • HIPAA, privacy and/or security certifications  IAPP CIPP, CIPM, etc.) is desirable

The Salary Range for the role is $57,784.00 - $76,000.00 per year.
