Analyst - Institutional Operations - Toronto, Ontario

We are seeking an Analyst, Institutional Operations to join our Institutional Operations team. Reporting to the Director, Institutional Operations, this role is responsible for day to day operational activities including cash and asset reconciliation, support for client onboarding, ad-hoc reporting, statement distribution, and close collaboration with internal partners such as Institutional Sales, Compliance, and IT to enhance operational processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations across custodians and internal systems; investigate and resolve breaks in a timely manner.
  • Support the end‑to‑end client onboarding process, including documentation review, account setup, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc operational reports, data extracts, and analysis to support internal stakeholders and client needs.
  • Coordinate the distribution of client statements, reports, and other periodic deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Institutional Sales, Compliance, IT, and other internal teams to streamline workflows, enhance controls, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with process documentation, workflow improvements, and system enhancements to support scalability and operational excellence.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for institutional mandates, including monitoring account activity, validating data feeds, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Contribute to operational readiness for new products, system changes, and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 1–3 years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally in institutional asset management.  
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of investment industry operations, including reconciliation process.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience troubleshooting or building macros in VBA; familiarity with data tools or automation platforms is an asset.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship‑management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • A continuous‑improvement mindset, with enthusiasm for enhancing processes, systems, and controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Completion of the CSC
  • CFA or CIM designation (or progress toward one) is an asset.
  • Registration as a Dealing Representative (EMD) is considered an asset.

This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is$55,000 to$95,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
