Job Description

Position Summary 

The Transportation Analyst supports the Transportation tower by assisting with weekly reporting, validating data accuracy, supporting system issue resolution, and helping standardize and maintain Transportation SOPs and documentation in SharePoint. 

This role is designed for an earlycareer professional (0–2 years experience) who is comfortable working with data, eager to learn transportation systems, and motivated to contribute to both operational reporting and documentation governance. The analyst will progressively develop skills in OTM, EDI basics, Power BI, and SharePoint while partnering closely with senior analysts, SMEs, and the Transportation Key User. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Transportation Reporting & Analytics 

  • Support preparation and validation of Service Reports and Scorecards. 

  • Review shipment data for accuracy and escalate issues as needed. 

  • Use Excel for pivots/lookups and learn Power BI for basic report updates. 

  • Assist with identifying data anomalies or process gaps. 

2. Transportation Systems Support 

  • Learn to navigate OTM to check shipment details and transportation statuses. 

  • Support basic EDI issue validation (missing events, incorrect updates) with guidance. 

  • Document findings and coordinate with senior analysts and technical teams. 

3. Documentation & SharePoint Management 

  • Help maintain and update SOPs, videos, PDFs, and process guides for the Transportation tower. 

  • Apply established taxonomy, naming conventions, and metadata in SharePoint. 

  • Assist in version control, document reviews, and tracking updates. 

  • Standardize documents using predefined templates (no need to design templates). 

4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement 

  • Work cross-functionally with transportation SMEs, carriers, and internal teams. 

  • Capture notes, action items, and updates for documentation. 

  • Support small improvement projects in reporting or documentation workflows. 

  • Share suggestions to reduce manual work or improve data quality. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field. 

  • Solid Excel skills (formulas, pivots, lookups). 

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to learn technical systems like OTM, Power BI, EDI tools, and SharePoint. 

  • Interest in both analytics and documentation/process work. 

 

Preferred (Nice to Have) 

  • Internship or 0–2 years of supply chain/logistics experience. 

  • Exposure to TMS systems (OTM, SAP, Inflight IBM.). 

  • Experience maintaining documentation or knowledge bases. 

  • Power BI basics (viewing reports, refreshing datasets).
