Analyst, Financial Crime Compliance & Advisory

Ebury Cyprus Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

As the Analyst, Financial Crime Compliance & Advisory, you will be a vital member of the Global Financial Crime team, focused on the detailed execution, analysis, and management of Ebury's Financial Crime controls and policies. You will work closely with the Manager to maintain the integrity of the framework, translate policy into procedure, and support the critical BWRA and Executive Reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Policy Execution & Advisory Support
  •  Advisory Triage & Response: Manage and triage the Financial Crime Advisory inbox, providing timely and accurate guidance on policy interpretations, risk classification, and procedural matters to front-line teams globally.
  •  Policy Implementation: Assist the Senior Manager in translating high-level Financial Crime policies into detailed, practical operational procedures for various departments.
  • Case Escalation: Analyze complex cases and high-risk client files, preparing detailed risk summaries and recommendations for the Senior Manager and MLRO review (e.g., policy dispensations, complex KYC issues).
  1. Risk Assessment & Executive Reporting Support
  • BWRA Coordination Support: Support the Manager in coordinating the Annual Business Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA) by collecting data from regional teams, preparing templates, and assisting with the initial data analysis and drafting of specific risk sections.
  • Reporting Preparation: Assist in the preparation and consolidation of materials for the Executive Group Document and regular committee papers (e.g., collecting KPI metrics, drafting analysis sections, reviewing local MLRO submissions).
  • Horizon Scanning Research: Conduct targeted research on emerging regulations, regulatory fines, and key industry trends (Horizon Scanning) to contribute to senior management updates.

III. Framework Maintenance & Projects

  • Training Content Management: Manage and update the content for Financial Crime training modules, ensuring accuracy and currency based on policy changes and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit & Control Support: Assist the Senior Manager in coordinating responses to Internal Audit and other external reviews, gathering documentation and evidence of control effectiveness.
  • Project Assistance: Support strategic Financial Crime initiatives and projects (e.g., system updates, process enhancements) by conducting gap analysis, drafting internal frameworks, and performing testing.
  • Governance Tracking: Maintain and track all policy dispensations, control waivers, and remediation actions to ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a Financial Crime, Compliance, or risk management role, preferably within a regulated financial institution or FinTech environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage large datasets and synthesise complex information into clear, concise reports.
  • Functional Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, particularly UK and EU requirements
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders.
  • Education/Certification: A Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Law) is required. A recognised Financial Crime Qualification (e.g., ACAMS, ICA Certificate) is highly desirable.
