Job Description:
Huntsman is seeking a highly skilled Americas Payroll Team Lead supporting the United States of America and other countries within the region from our GBS site in Costa Rica. This position will report to Regional Payroll Manager.
In summary, as the Team Lead, you will the following responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Operations Management (50%)
- Lead and mentor a regional payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Lead Year-End and Quarter-End activities.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations (excluding input collection and accounting activities) and customer service delivery for payroll queries and requests.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency within payroll workflows.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for payroll issues within the region.
Payroll Analysis & Execution (40%)
- Perform payroll calculations, validations, and reconciliations for assigned pay groups.
- Audit and approve payroll runs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Supervise overall payroll delivery to ensure indicators are met
- Collaborate with external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and (or) technical issues.
- Resolve complex income tax withholding cases.
- Process quarter-end and year-end adjustments.
Post-Payroll Activities (10%)
- Ensure timely distribution of pay slips and statutory reporting
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to payroll
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
You must possess the following minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
- The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica. **Sponsorship now or in the future is not approved for this role**
- Candidates must work onsite on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additional office days may be required as needed or during corporate visits.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or any other related degree. 7+ years of relevant experience could be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience executing US payroll activities in an equivalent business environment in a multiple-state environment
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday) and vendor management
- Strong knowledge of regional payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional domain of English (B2+)
- Advanced Excel knowledge
Preferred requirements
- 7+ years of experience in payroll activities supporting US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia and Brazil.
- 2+ years of team leadership experience in a service delivery operation
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or FPC certified
- Understand HR activities related to employment of labor regulations from US, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico (desired).
- Experience with Service Now as a CRM for payroll support
- ADP Vantage and (or) Workforce Now advanced knowledge
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing circumstances.
- A valid passport and US Visa through 2026
