Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will overhaul, repair, and reassemble aircraft systems, including removing, replacing, installing, and aligning components according to technical manuals.
  • You will visually inspect components to diagnose issues and conduct pressure tests on systems to verify functionality after repairs are complete.
  • You will assist with flight line operations, including aircraft checkouts, inspecting for leaks, and standing fire guard during engine starts.
  • You will perform basic preservation duties, including corrosion control, minor lubrication, and conducting regular preservation inspections.
  • You will operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and use a variety of common and precision hand tools to complete maintenance tasks.
  • You will inspect, disassemble, reassemble, and test armament mounts such as bomb racks and missile launchers.
  • You will use technical manuals to look up parts and make precise entries into aircraft records to document all work accomplished.
  • You will obtain oil samples and remove filters from aircraft systems for off-site laboratory evaluation.
  • You will actively participate in and improve command programs for Quality, Safety, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and tool control.

Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) applying standardized and specific procedures to accomplish tasks of limited complexity, such as making repairs that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts, accessories, and components, such as gaskets, bad actuators, worn cable pulleys, etc., on various aircraft systems; 2) Overhauling and repairing a wide variety of aircraft systems and components which includes pneudraulic/hydraulic, fuel tanks, flight control, rotor drive, gear boxes, rotor heads, rotor blades, but specific to Landing Gear; 3) Overhauling, repairing parts, accessories, and components of hydraulic, pneudraulic systems, environmental control systems, flight control systems, and vent systems; 4) Demonstrating knowledge and skill of where the parts and components are located and the methods of removal and installation to prevent parts from being damaged or misaligned.
