Job Summary: This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This is an Indefinite Reimbursable WG-8268-11 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2767000 and is part of the MO TASMG Shop. This is a bargaining unit position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

Major Duties:

  • Oversees and directs the work of the Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems Mechanics, WG-8268-10, who are assigned to the shop.
  • Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s).
  • Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Devises and maintains plans and records.
  • Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.
  • Manufactures low, medium, and high-pressure hose and tube assemblies per TM requirements or sample including pressure testing of same.
  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilizations, and command support exercises.
  • Implements safety regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) with date of rank after 12 September 2022 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training that demonstrates the knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience or training that provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; experience in fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines; experience servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies; experience in repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems; experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
