A new position for an Air & Thermal Electrical Power Engineer has opened in Airbus Commercial, Hamburg. This role is in Environmental Control Systems (ECS) domain, one of the biggest power consumer of the next aircraft generation. As an Air & Thermal Electrical Power Engineer, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including system designers from various ECS design offices, system architects, experts, and senior experts, airframe system installation designers, and various suppliers.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
This position can be filled through top sharing. / Die Besetzung dieser Position ist im Topsharing möglich. (a must for internal leadership JRs)

Understand the electrical characteristics and associated requirements of the future electrical power generation system, as well as their rationale, as defined by the Electrical Systems design office.
Assess their applicability and, with the help of the Air System Architect, Experts, and ECS design offices, derive the relevant electrical requirements for the environmental control systems.
Ensure awareness of these requirements in the extended air systems design office community, including suppliers, and drive technical discussions to ensure their implementation.
Assess proposed electrical architectures and provide recommendations to de-risk future techno bricks to ensure that Environment Control Systems architecture meets the key figure of merits (performance, electrical power requirements, weight, reliability, heat dissipation, installation, etc.)
Report and discuss any non-compliance with the Electrical Systems design office to achieve an optimal aircraft.
Electrical Engineering background
Strong knowledge of the electrical power characteristics of aircraft (e.g., network power quality).
Any experience in power electronics development and/or Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) would be a strong asset.
Excellent leadership, communication, and networking skills.
A strong team player.
Negotiation-level English proficiency, German is a plus.
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
