The Tech Lead of the Prudential Corporate AI Lab and Incubator will drive the Lab’s the development of global AI sandbox, development of cutting-edge AI solutions, R&D and provide technology leadership in AI domain.
The role requires a strong technical background in Data, AI and modern Cloud infrastructure, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders across insurance business, technology and AI. The Tech Lead will ensure the set-up and operations of the AI Lab Sandbox and tech stack, delivery of high-quality AI products, continues experimentation and contributes to Prudential's goal of becoming an industry leader in AI-driven customer.
Sandbox Platform Oversight
- Manage the development and maintenance of the AI Lab's global sandbox platform.
- Ensure the platform enables Prudential teams and external participants to experiment with AI applications effectively.
- Continuously improve the platform based on user feedback and technological advancements.
- Provide technology enablement to teams under incubation or conducting experimentation.
Technical AI Domain Expertise
- Provide deep technical expertise in AI, machine learning, and related technologies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AI research and industry trends
- Guide and translate research findings into practical solutions for Prudential's business problems
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of internal AI experts and engineers
- Collaborate with external partners, including higher education institutions, start-ups, and hyperscale’s expert teams and government agencies
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the AI Lab
AI Product Development and Quality Assurance
- Oversee the technology aspects of structured AI product incubation and acceleration program
- Ensure AI Products and experiments are developed in alignment with Prudential's core risk, data protection, technology risk management polices and regulations
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of AI solutions
- Work closely with business and functional representatives to prioritize, decide on technical feasibility and deliver AI projects
Talent Development and Ecosystem Engagement
- Contribute to the development of AI talent within Prudential through support in education and training programs
- Engage with the external AI ecosystem to attract top engineering talent and build strategic partnerships
- Represent Prudential at industry events and conferences to showcase the company's AI capabilities
Additional Job Description
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in Data, AI and machine learning, with a proven track record of delivering successful AI projects
- Strong technical skills in programming languages (e.g., Python), AI frameworks, Data, DevOps, ML and LLM Ops and cloud platforms
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing and mentoring technical teams
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices in AI governance and ethics
- Passion for innovation and a drive to position Prudential at the forefront of AI in the insurance industry
