Position Overview
The AI System Engineer is member of the organization’s Responsible AI Alliance (RAIA), responsible for developing and maintaining a responsible AI culture across the enterprise, helping drive the mission of the RAIA. This position will support risk management, process automation and customer insights initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with R&D, business stakeholders, information security and compliance teams to ensure the responsible usage of artificial intelligence across Wintrust.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assessing and evaluation of AI use cases, evaluating AI software platforms, conducting POCs and pilot implementations of AI technology, assisting in the development of artifacts, engaging with stakeholders, and assisting in growing the RAIA team’s presence across Wintrust.
This role also requires project and change management experience, with ability to lead complex initiatives from planning through implementation while guiding stakeholders through organizational change.
An understanding of AI in a regulatory landscape and previous experience within an Enterprise IT environment preferred.
What You’ll Do
Building and documenting use cases, to assist in the evaluation of AI.
Evaluating and interrogating software solutions for their AI usage.
Maintain a strong working relationship with Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Information Security and IT Risk Management to ensure that AI utilization aligns with current and future requirements.
Work with multiple business lines and departments to help understand their business directives and initiatives and how they work within the Responsible AI framework.
Project managing initiatives to ensuring proper documentation and clear status communication to stakeholders.
Creating documentation of processes and workflows to assist in automation through AI
Researching AI features/functions and capabilities across the technology landscape
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
3+ years of related experience
Must have excellent organizational skills, an attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal and customer service skills
Need to have a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (preferably in the financial services area) and an appetite to learn
Ability to work in an environment where deadlines are critical

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000.00 - $92,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
