We are seeking a strategic and forward‑thinking AI Strategy and Enablement Principal to lead our enterprise approach to AI delivery, governance, and risk. With AI at the forefront of our transformation, this role ensures that innovation accelerates responsibly by integrating AI and IT risk practices into every phase of the SDLC. You will oversee demand planning, maintain the enterprise inventory of AI initiatives, and provide a single‑pane‑of‑glass view into delivery progress, initiative health, and risk posture. As a senior advisor to executive leadership, you will shape our AI risk strategy, enable decision‑making, and ensure that rapid AI delivery aligns with our Responsible AI standards and enterprise risk tolerance.
We are seeking an experienced AI Strategy and Enablement Principal to lead our enterprise approach to AI delivery, governance, and risk oversight. This strategic role places AI at the forefront of our technology agenda—ensuring our rapidly expanding AI portfolio is delivered with speed, transparency, and Responsible AI discipline.
You will own the enterprise inventory of AI initiatives, manage demand planning, and provide a unified, single‑pane‑of‑glass view into AI project status, risks, performance, and health. You'll ensure decision‑makers have real-time insights while embedding robust IT and AI risk management practices into every stage of the SDLC.
As a trusted advisor to senior executives, you will shape risk strategy, guide major AI initiatives, and help the organization accelerate innovation responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide IT and AI risk assessment, mitigation, and governance, integrating controls throughout the SDLC.
- Maintain a centralized inventory of all AI initiatives, including demand intake, prioritization, and lifecycle tracking.
- Deliver a single‑pane‑of‑glass dashboard showing AI delivery progress, risk posture, model health, and resource capacity.
- Oversee AI demand planning and partner with technology and business leaders to sequence and align work.
- Define and manage KPIs for AI initiative health, including:
- Delivery velocity and cycle-time trends
- Model performance and drift indicators
- Responsible AI control adherence
- Capacity and resource alignment
- Business value realization
- Operational stability and incident trends
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior executives on AI risks, opportunities, and organizational readiness.
- Ensure accelerated AI delivery remains aligned with enterprise risk tolerance, regulatory expectations, and Responsible AI standards.
- Serve as an advanced subject matter expert, supporting multiple programs, lines of business, and technology domain

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical related field
- 10+ years of technical experience
- 2-5 years of project/people leadership
- 5+ years of experience in IT Risk Management
- 2+ years of experience at leading and influencing leaders related to transformational IT strategy
- 1+ years of experience implementing or advising on AI related strategy
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PgMP, or PMI‑ACP for advanced delivery leadership
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of AI initiatives and enforce prioritization, demand planning, and resource allocation processes
- Proven ability to influence senior executives on matters of technology, AI risk, and organizational strategy.
- Experience working with AI regulatory expectations (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act principles, industry RAI standards).

Remote/WAH requirements:
- WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
- Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$156,500 - $215,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
