Overview:

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Solutions Lead to join our engineering organization dedicated to repairing and restoring defective products to optimal performance. This expert-level role will be at the forefront of leveraging AI technologies to transform how we diagnose, analyze, and resolve product issues. The position is critical to driving innovation within our repair operations, enabling smarter decision-making, predictive insights, and automated solutions that reduce downtime and improve overall efficiency.

As the AI Solutions Lead, you will play a strategic and technical leadership role, shaping the vision for AI adoption while ensuring practical execution. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can deliver measurable impact, design robust architectures, and oversee end-to-end implementation of AI-driven solutions. This role demands a unique blend of technical depth, leadership capability, and strong communication skills to influence decision-making and foster alignment across diverse teams. The successful candidate will not only advise on best practices and emerging technologies but also roll up their sleeves to solve complex technical challenges, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with HPE’s commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead AI Strategy and Implementation: Define and drive the roadmap for AI solutions within the engineering organization focused on product repair and restoration.
  • Architect AI Solutions: Design and oversee the development of AI-driven systems that improve defect detection, diagnostics, and repair workflows.
  • Hands-On Technical Leadership: Actively participate in coding, algorithm development, and integration of AI technologies into existing engineering processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, operations, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI adoption and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Technical Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor on AI technologies, best practices, and emerging trends, guiding decision-making at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and training to engineers on AI concepts, tools, and implementation strategies to build internal expertise.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure AI solutions are scalable, reliable, and optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Communication and Reporting: Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for leadership and non-technical audiences.
  • Innovation Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation by exploring new AI technologies and methodologies that can enhance repair processes and operational excellence.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all AI implementations adhere to HPE’s quality standards, security protocols, and ethical guidelines.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Typically 6-10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of engineering principles combined with practical experience applying them in complex, real-world environments.
  • Programming Proficiency: Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages commonly used in AI and engineering contexts, such as Perl, Python, C#, PHP, or VBA, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • AI Concepts and Technologies: Deep knowledge of artificial intelligence fundamentals, as well as familiarity with AI frameworks and tools. 
  • Systems Integration Experience: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI solutions into existing engineering workflows and systems, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-Solving Expertise: Proven track record of diagnosing complex technical challenges and delivering practical, AI-driven solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with repair operations, defect analysis, and quality assurance processes within a high-tech or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Commitment to staying current with emerging AI technologies, engineering practices, and industry trends to drive innovation within the organization.
