About the role

As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) AI Security Technical Specialist, you will be part of the team responsible for securing AI systems and shaping the cybersecurity governance program for AI within FIS. This role is critical in ensuring that AI technologies are deployed safely, ethically, and in compliance with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the cyber governance leaders to design and implement an end-to-end AI cybersecurity governance program that aligns with enterprise risk management and the broader enterprise AI governance program.

This position sits within the Cybersecurity organization and reports into leadership responsible for cyber governance and risk. It is ideal for professionals who combine technical expertise in AI, including model architecture, MLOps, and security technical testing, with an understanding of cybersecurity governance and risk management.

What you will be doing

Support the Cyber Governance team by owning and delivering activities as part of establishing and operating a formal AI Cybersecurity governance program.  Key activities include but are not limited to:

  • AI cybersecurity governance program design: Work with the Cyber Governance team to design and establish FIS’ AI cybersecurity governance framework and program.
  • AI cybersecurity requirements: Enhance and update AI cybersecurity related policies, standards and procedures, and controls mapping, given evolving frameworks, threats and regulatory landscape.
  • AI cybersecurity tool deployment and operations: Be a key lead for the proof-of-concept (POC) for FIS’ AI cybersecurity solution.  Enhance requirements for FIS AI cybersecurity tool(s) to support detection, testing, and monitoring of AI-specific risks such as model misuse, hallucinations, prompt injections, and bias. Play lead role in deployment and operation of the tool capabilities, including discovery and inventory, technical testing, vulnerability assessment, and risk identification and remediation tracking.  Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to embed cybersecurity controls into MLOps pipelines and integrate secure practices across model development, deployment and monitoring.
  • Compliance and framework alignment: Help align the AI cybersecurity program with industry frameworks such as NIST RMF, OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, and regulatory mandates like the EU AI Act. Support documentation to demonstrate compliance and AI cybersecurity risk management for audits and evaluations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with Cybersecurity, Privacy and other key stakeholders, including the enterprise AI Governance Committee, to embed cybersecurity throughout the AI lifecycle.
  • Threat modeling and incident response: Work with the Cyber Governance, Cyber Defense, and Attack Surface Management teams to develop threat modeling exercises for AI implementations and contribute to incident response planning for AI-related cybersecurity events. Support development of red teaming exercises targeting AI interfaces and model logic.
  • AI cybersecurity risk management: Support the Cyber Governance team in providing oversight, managing and monitoring AI cybersecurity risks for AI implementations across FIS.  Help with systematically identifying, assessing, and mitigating AI risks throughout the lifecycle.

What you bring

  • Minimum of four to seven years of AI cybersecurity relevant experience based on industry and prior job responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML systems, including model architecture, training workflows, and deployment pipelines (e.g., MLOps), with hands-on experience using AI cybersecurity tools and testing platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of AI-specific risks such as adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and model theft, and approaches to remediate or mitigate AI risks.
  • Strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, including vulnerability management, data protection, and secure software development.
  • Experience with AI-specific frameworks (e.g., NIST RMF, OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS) and regulatory compliance (e.g., EU AI Act).
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical resources and translate technical risks into governance controls and policy language.
  • A self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks, strong organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail.
