Vanguard is seeking a senior‑level AI Platform Engineer-Technical Lead to join Corporate Systems-Enterprise Productivity & Enablement (EP&E). This role provides enterprise technical leadership across SaaS, cloud, and AI platforms used enterprise‑wide, including platforms such as Writer, Amazon Quick Suite, and other related AI‑enabled solutions.
The role combines hands‑on platform engineering with architectural leadership, ensuring platforms are secure, reliable, scalable, and well‑integrated within Vanguard’s technology ecosystem. You'll play a critical part in shaping Corporate Systems’ enterprise AI and platform strategy, ensuring technology solutions deliver measurable value while meeting Vanguard’s high standards for security, reliability, and responsible use.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and production support of cloud‑based SaaS and AI platforms, including integrating third‑party vendor solutions.
Conducts testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security.
Define and apply architecture standards, integration patterns, and best practices for AI and enterprise platforms.
Provide hands‑on development and DevOps support, including code development, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.
Ensure platforms meet enterprise security, resiliency, compliance, and SDLC standards.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and cross‑functional teams.
Ensures the viability of IT deliverables, recommends development and architectural options, approves the team's technical deliverables.
Partner with Product, Delivery, Security, Legal, and vendor teams to support responsible AI adoption and platform roadmap execution.
Qualifications:
Senior‑level experience in platform engineering, technical leadership, or architecture roles.
Hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud‑native solutions.
Hands on experience with programming languages, preferably in Python.
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern software development practices.
Experience deploying and integrating third‑party SaaS and vendor platforms in AWS.
Experience in various authentication and authorization patterns for integrating SaaS solutions including SAML and SCIM.
Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and enterprise integration patterns.
Working knowledge of AI platforms, AI Agents, and AI‑enabled workflows, preferably in the Finance industry.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
Minimum of ten years related work experience, with at least five years of development experience.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
