The Opportunity:
We are seeking highly skilled Innovation and Experimentation Specialist to join our team supporting USAFRICOM's Global Campaign of Learning and Joint Exercise Program. The ideal candidates will play a crucial role in enhancing operational effectiveness and decision-making quality to address complex challenges in multi-domain operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop joint and combined exercises to enhance US capabilities and integration with Allies and Partners
Improve USAFRICOM headquarters exercises and Service Command processes
Collate and integrate best practices from across the Joint Force into exercises and operations
Facilitate collaboration between AFRICOM staff, industry partners, OSW, Joint Staff J7, and Service Commands
Integrate lessons learned and best practices into USAFRICOM exercises and operations
Conduct rapid analysis and synthesis through cross-functional teams and red teaming
Develop insights and actionable recommendations to inform decision-making and facilitate adaptation
Create products including flash updates, operational learning notes, and CJCS updates
Produce informative materials and briefing products for Senior Leadership
Integrate cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Autonomous Systems, and Quantum Computing
Assist in developing various exercises and wargames utilizing innovation and experimentation methodologies
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience in military operations, defense technology, or related fields
Expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Autonomous Systems, and Quantum Computing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Experience in exercise development and wargaming
Familiarity with USAFRICOM operations and Joint Force structure
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with AFRICOM or other Combatant Commands
Background in innovation and experimentation methodologies
Knowledge of the Global Campaign of Learning
Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$99,300 - 208,600 USD
