Job Summary: You will serve as a AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPT, AEROMECHANICS DIV of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Major Duties:

  • You will direct technical development of all rotary wing activities within the branch in order to meet mission requirements and has technical authority over all such efforts.
  • You will oversee project funding for each activity, either directly or delegated to project team leads.
  • You will provide training and mentoring to branch members working on rotary wing activities, including senior and journeyman level engineers and Engineering and Science Development Program (ESDP) personnel.
  • You will develop and maintain project plans and ensure that projects comply with Air Systems Group policies with regard to technical development and improvement of simulation activities.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Contributing to the development and coding of high fidelity simulation models for use in engineering analysis, test team support and fleet training; 2) A thorough knowledge of the theory and application of rotary wing aerodynamics; 3) Knowledge of flight dynamics, aircraft performance, software development, project management, and aircraft operations in order to effectively solve problems; 4) The ability to develop the competencies of others to perform and contribute to the organization; and 5) Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
