AEM Architect

Job Description:

The AEM Architect role will be responsible for taking AEM platform implementations projects through the entire life cycle. You will work as the technical lead and will be directly involved in the design, development, and testing of multiple AEM sites. This position will also document and support the sites and extensions throughout the production life cycle. The position will include both working with project teams in an Agile environment and self-directed activities. The position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, communication, and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative, organization, and judgment.

Essential Functions:

  •  Design and implement end-to-end Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions to meet both business and technical requirements, acting as the AEM subject matter expert and providing guidance on best practices.
  • Interface with client stakeholders, technical leads, and third-party vendors to gather requirements, clarify technical specifications, and align on AEM implementation strategies.
  • Develop scalable, secure integration solutions that connect AEM with external systems, including CRMs, ERPs, and marketing automation platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging marketing technologies, assessing and integrating new tools to enhance digital marketing capabilities within AEM.
  • Evaluate wireframes and design mockups to assess technical feasibility and recommend adjustments for efficient, componentized designs aligned with AEM's capabilities.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively with both non-technical clients and technical development teams, adapting communication to meet diverse audience needs.
  • Design and test AEM solutions to ensure compatibility across major browsers and adherence to web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), implementing responsive design techniques for a consistent user experience.
  • Lead development within Agile environments, participating in practices such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to iteratively deliver AEM solutions.
  • Demonstrate self-management, proactively driving tasks to completion without micromanagement and ensuring high standards on all assigned projects.
  • Develop detailed project proposals and time estimates, including timelines, resource requirements, and cost projections to support business planning.
  • Maintain strong technical proficiency to document code accurately, creating comprehensive, maintainable documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure alignment with organizational standards, following coding best practices to maintain quality and readability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to AEM developers, assisting with complex problem-solving, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, and promoting best practices.
  • Establish and maintain integration standards for AEM solutions, ensuring secure, high-performance integrations that meet scalability and reliability requirements.
  • Rapidly learn and assess third-party tools and platforms to integrate within the AEM ecosystem, continually enhancing digital capabilities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients and developers, bridging technical and non-technical aspects to ensure clear project alignment.
  • Design workflows for content creation, approval, and publishing within AEM, enforcing governance policies to secure content and maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to set up continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines, ensuring automated deployments are smooth and efficient.
  • Oversee deployment processes and ensure alignment with change management protocols, promoting effective and reliable AEM solution releases.
  • Monitor project milestones, communicate progress to stakeholders, and make adjustments to ensure project goals and timelines are achieved.

  • Broad knowledge of the Adobe Marketing Cloud, including tools like Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and Adobe Campaign, enabling seamless integration and cross-solution strategy.
  • Proficient in delivering technical support both remotely (via phone or email) and in-person as needed.
  • Skilled in configuring and optimizing systems and applications to meet specific technical and business requirements.
  • Experienced with ticket-based tracking systems for effective issue management and progress tracking.
  • Capable of creating clear, detailed technical documentation to support code, configuration, and architectural decisions.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with sprint goals and project timelines for efficient delivery.
  • Knowledgeable in designing solutions that meet cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous learning, with a strong ability to embrace new tools, processes, and technologies.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing with AEM Sites & Assets (6.3 or higher)
  • Minimum 3 years of architecting enterprise grade CMS implementations
  • Experience in AEM Assets implementation
  • Adobe AEM certifications beneficial but not required

Experience:

  • 5+ years building sites using: AEM CMS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Vue
  • 5+ years experience with creating custom AEM components and templates
  • 5+ years experience maintaining and administering AEM sites
  • 5+ years experience with Java
  • 5+ years experience with HTTP and REST API usage
  • Experience utilizing BitBucket, GitHub, Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with AMS as a hosting platform
  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service
  • Familiarity with Adobe Commerce
  • Familiarity with other Adobe Experience Cloud products is beneficial

Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000 - $182,562. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
