Position Overview

The Technical Specialist is a technical sales professional responsible for driving expansion and consistent execution of Autodesk’s growth solutions across Territory customers. The role operates within a hybrid engagement model, supporting both Autodesk-led and Partner-led sales motions. This role emphasizes scale, prioritization, repeatability, and enablement. Success is defined by the ability to apply proven solution patterns across many customers, accelerate pipeline through efficient technical engagement, and ensure sellers and partners position Autodesk’s mature portfolio consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Understand common territory customer workflows, operational constraints, and buying drivers. Advise customers, sellers, and partners on how Autodesk’s mature solutions can deliver measurable outcomes (efficiency, standardization, quality, risk reduction). Apply repeatable technical strategies that support predictable execution at scale while adapting appropriately for priority opportunities

  • Lead or support structured discovery across multiple opportunities in parallel. Translate customer needs into clear, reusable technical requirements and standard solution patterns. Balance discovery depth with the speed and prioritization required for regional coverage

  • Deliver scalable demonstrations tailored by segment, industry, and common workflows. Use consistent storytelling frameworks to articulate value and differentiation

  • Apply standard solution architectures and configuration patterns to meet customer requirements. Support pilots or validations where appropriate using repeatable success criteria and playbooks

  • Support pipeline acceleration and expansion across a broad customer base. Provide technical inputs to proposals (solution narrative, assumptions, success criteria) efficiently at scale. Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities based on common customer patterns and adoption indicators

  • Identify recurring customer needs, objections, and blockers across the territory. Provide aggregated, pattern-based feedback for Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing. Contribute to improvements in product readiness, messaging, and enablement based on territory signals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applies Autodesk’s mature portfolio across a wide range of customers and industries; deepens from feature-level understanding to shaping standard solution patterns

  • Efficient discovery and qualification that balances depth with speed; evolves from documenting needs to guiding sellers/partners on repeatable approaches

  • Applies standard architectures and validation approaches; expands from supporting configurations to defining scalable validation patterns

  • Clear, consistent storytelling that evolves from delivering standard demos to coaching others and shaping demo standards

  • Understands territory sales motions, pipeline dynamics, and expansion drivers; grows from deal support to influencing prioritization and coverage strategies

  • Partners effectively with sales teams, partners, success, and product; expands from participation to cross-team influence

  • Improves territory execution through documentation, coaching, and standards; expands from asset contribution to leadership at scale
