The Large-Format business is growing to capitalize on the many opportunities offered by the transformation of physical to digital architectural, engineering and construction (AEC). We combine discovery, new technologies and rigorous execution to deliver creative workflow solutions and applications to the marketplace.   We are a multicultural team organized in several programs, working using agile & less methodologies and developing with high quality standards and state-of-the-art technologies.

A key part of the Large Format growth strategy is to deliver and scale value beyond the printer by building a strong portfolio of host and cloud Solutions for AEC customers .  This will require leadership of a team of SW developers, partner leads, internal and external workflow partners and close collaboration with other FW/SW teams.

Job scope

  • Responsible for the efficient delivery for AEC solutions related to job submission and device management.
  • Responsible of managing a team of SW engineers & partner leads. Set clear objectives and track them. Provide support and coaching for talent development and professional growth. Increase the knowledge and expertise of team members. Ensure best in class team performance. Spread business acumen in the team.
  • Ensure Solutions plans, activities and objectives are fully aligned with the goals of Large Format priorities, with hosted SW development functions and internal / external development partners. Planning and project tracking to ensure team delivers as per commitments.
  • Reach timely completion of project deliverables, meeting performance and quality requirements. Manage the team and work in very close partnership with domain managers, product managers, program integrators and chief engineers.
  • Look for, manage, coordinate and support improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and quality of the SW and solutions developed by the team and by the extended development network including hosted SW functions in other areas. 
  • Actively participate in the Solutions Section staff.  Influence and contribute to the continuous improvement of lab strategies, processes and performance.
  • Manage the team budget and linkages with the rest of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading programs to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Proactively identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement to increase team agility.
  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Educational and Professional Experience:

  • BA/MS Degree Computer Sciences, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial engineering, or equivalent. May have advanced university degree.
  • Entrepreneur mindset
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, including 3 -5 years of people management experience.
  • Strong people management and interpersonal relationship skills: leadership, motivation, networking, teamwork, negotiation and communication.
  • Experience in software development in collaboration with firmware, workflow and cloud solutions using agile.
  • Demonstrated success in collaboration with partners to build value. Experience developing firmware and software with external partners
  • Good business, processes and technology understanding associated to the software and printing industries.
  • Successful experience in at least 2 full NPD cycles at HP.
  • Extensive experience in NPD functions with proven understanding of processes, roles and objectives, demonstrated multi-disciplinary team leadership.
  • Proven record of superior customer focus.
  • Driver of change, ability to convince with rigor and facts as well as be the role model to drive new behaviors at all organizational levels.
  • Highly motivated, results oriented and demonstrated senior people leadership.
  • Ability to manage human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
