Job Description:
The Retail Wealth Enablement, Operations and Transition department plays a pivotal role in our organization’s strategic expansion into a new Investment Dealer. Our dedicated team under the leadership of the AVP, Operations and Transition, is responsible for not only initiating and nurturing the wealth management segment but also ensuring operational excellence with a keen focus on first time-right process design. We place strong emphasis on partner servicing, aligning with internal and external stakeholders, and driving process optimization to create efficient, cost-effective operations that meet both current and future scalability requirements. The Advisor Transition Team, specifically, is critical to our mission by ensuring frictionless, high-quality onboarding experience for new advisors.
The successful candidate will be a pivotal leader, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of transitioning new investment advisors from their current firms to our investment dealer, SLCSI. This role blends strategic planning with practical execution to ensure a flawless onboarding experience and to drive the long-term success of the new advisor. The Manager will be an advocate for process optimization, first time-right execution, and build strong foundational relationships. This role is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days/week minimum.
Note: Travel will be required within Canada for this role.
What will you do?
Transition Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a premier subject matter expert (SME) on all aspects of advisor onboarding, account transfer, and platform training.
Transition Excellence: Pursue first time-right process design and execution for all advisor transitions.
Advisor Liaison & Leadership: Directly manage complex advisor transitions, providing high-touch support and training.
Stakeholder & Vendor Liaison: Act as primary point of contact for internal teams (Compliance, Tech) and external partners (Carrying Broker) specifically regarding transition.
Project Leadership: Lead and contribute to critical projects aimed at enhancing the advisor transition platform, tools, and experience.
Process Design & Improvement: Lead the development and optimization of seamless, compliant transition workflows for advisors.
What do you need to succeed?
Proven experience (10+ years preferred) in Wealth Management with deep knowledge of Operations, Mid Office, and Front Office functions.
Strong project management and team leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Completion of the Canadian Securities Cource (CSC) and progress towards CFA designation are assets.
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
