The Advisor is responsible for providing financial, economic and risk analysis in support of the evaluation of organic growth projects, acquisitions, divestitures and mergers and other business initiatives.

What You Will Do:

  • Build, review and maintain comprehensive financial models for new projects and complex business development initiatives. Financial models will include:
     

1. Integrated financial statements.

2. Enbridge consolidation and accretion impacts.

3. Standardized valuation metrics to permit inter-project comparisons.

4. Appropriate tax, financing, accounting and legal considerations.

5. Financial, economic and other key inputs provided by the operating divisions to ensure realistic and consistent assumptions.
 

  • Evaluate whether new projects and business development initiatives align with the overall Corporate Strategy.

  • Provide commercial advice in the execution of investment projects.

  • Provide guidance to Business Unit project development and Corporate support (Tax, Treasury, Financial Risk, Credit, Corporate Controllers) teams on Investment Review practices and the capital allocation approval processes.

  • Take ownership of fundamentals and industry analysis to support project economics

  • Track and report on relevant industry activity and capital markets developments

  • Lead financial modeling and valuation to various acquisition, divestiture and development initiatives.

  • Prepare internal reports and presentations for senior decision makers

  • Lead/coordinate internal teams in due diligence efforts

  • Work closely and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute on processes.

  • Actively influence decision making through successful relationship management.

  • Interact effectively with personnel across the organization and externally.

  • Lead annual improvement projects on valuation methodologies (“Analytical Framework”)
     

Who You Are:

Required:

  • A university degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience.

  • Outstanding financial modelling skills.

  • Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with the flexibility to accommodate different work styles

  • Ability to work within a team environment.
     

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of regulatory, taxation and accounting issues considered an asset.

  • Business education (MBA and/or CA, CMA, CFA, CBV) considered an asset.

  • Prior experience in commercial development/acquisition and/or operations of infrastructure assets beneficial.
