Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Advanced Practitioner – Families First (CIN & Assessment) to join its client team based across various locality in Trafford. This is a full‑time agency role offering £37 per hour and supporting elevated Child in Need practice and robust initial assessments across the borough.

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will:

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide expert coaching, support, and formal supervision to designated staff or social work students, facilitating their professional growth.
  • Complex Case Management: Manage a varied and manageable workload, including high-complexity Child and Family assessments and Section 47 (S47) enquiries.
  • Practice Quality: Model "best practice" in CIN planning, ensuring that assessments are analytical, child-centered, and completed within statutory timescales.
  • Relational Partnership: Build and maintain strong partnerships with families and agencies to enable the safe and timely "step down" of plans to universal or early help services.
  • Duty Participation: Contribute to the team duty rota, providing senior-level oversight and decision-making during assessment peaks.
  • Service Development: Support the authority's goal of raising the status of CIN work, ensuring a consistent and robust approach throughout the locality.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Advanced Experience: Significant post-qualified experience in frontline safeguarding, assessment, and Child in Need work.
  • Supervisory Skills: Proven experience in supervising, mentoring, or coaching social workers or students (e.g., as a Practice Educator).
  • Analytical Assessment: High-level skills in undertaking S47 enquiries and complex risk assessments.
  • Compliance: Candidates must provide a 5-year reference history (with all gaps checked) and must pass the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions to be considered for submission.

Working Hours & Hybrid Pattern:

  • Locality‑based role within one of Trafford’s locality teams
  • Office‑based expectation to provide visible leadership and supervision, typically three days per week
  • Full‑time agency placement
