POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief Upstate SC is seeking a dynamic Adult Education Intern to walk alongside refugees and immigrants on their path toward economic self-sufficiency through education and skill-building. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in adult education and refugee resettlement services. The intern will support our Adult Education Specialist within the Economic Empowerment team in delivering holistic educational services, including English language learning support, digital literacy instruction, proficiency assessments, workforce readiness education, Café English (conversational English practice sessions), ESL tutoring volunteer support and academic skill-building. Under supervision, the intern will assist clients in developing the foundational skills needed to succeed in the U.S. workforce and navigate daily life in their new community. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and supporting workshops, tutoring sessions, and informational classes that equip clients with practical knowledge and confidence. The intern will also assist with preparing instructional materials, tracking participation and progress, managing program logistics, and connecting clients to community resources that support continued learning and long-term advancement. Through this experience, the intern will contribute meaningfully to the educational journeys of some of our most resilient community members -- while gaining valuable, real-world experience in nonprofit program operations.
