Job DescriptionServes as Division Administrator for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine encompassing 75 regular faculty members, 30 adjunct faculty members, 30 fellows, and 50 research, administrative, and support staff and 5 student workers; supervises 15 direct reports, both professional and clerical; works as a strategic partner with the Division Director and the department's Chief Operating Officer in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals and objectives; directs fiscal, administrative and human resource operations; develops and is fiscally accountable for $30+ million operating budget; develops and implements strategic planning, succession planning, and goal setting; assures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and laws; oversees business and programmatic activities and formulates management and business plans for new ventures; participates in faculty recruitment strategic planning and implementation; assists the Division Director with faculty recruitment and hiring activities; assures recruitment and retention to meet the needs of the division; acts as a facilitator and ensures open lines of communication; serves as division liaison with the department, Heart and Vascular Center, College of Medicine, and Medical Center administration.Minimum Education RequiredMaster's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in business administration or health services mgt & policyAdditional Education DesiredMaster's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in business administration or health services mgt & policyRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in business administration, health services management and policy, or equivalent combination of education/experience required; extensive (5+ years) experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity in a health care setting required; preferably in an academic medical setting; experience managing a large program, department or section preferred; considerable knowledge of accounting principles and applications required; experience in a supervisory capacity strongly preferred; experience and/or knowledge of a research environment strongly desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
