Job Summary: U.S. Marshals Service, Program Operations., Arlington, VA. The selectee of this position serves as a Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for providing financial and budget management, procurement and contracting activities, property and fleet management, human resources activities, and other support services such as: records and files management, security management, regional audits, various special projects, and other facilitating services.

Major Duties:

  • As a Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-11 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Manage financial and budget services, procurement/contracting activities, financial systems support services, and travel functions Coordinate the acquisition, receipt, distribution, transfer, disposal, control, and accountability of government property in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements Serve as the primary human resources point of contact/program resource for the region and its field offices Perform a variety of administrative operational support functions, to include, but not limited to: records and files management, security management/equipment maintenance and repairs, regional audits, special projects, etc.

Qualifications: GS-11 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0341-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level of the Federal Service that includes: 1) Track the expenditure of supplies, office equipment, maintenance, travel and/or overtime to draft future year budget requests; 2) Research Human Resource related problems to recommend solutions to supervisors; 3) Support and implement changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of administrative operations; 4) Communicate orally and in writing to present clear, concise, and well-organized information to supervisors and customers; and 5) Use computers and various software applications to perform a wide range of administrative support functions. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts. OR Combination: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described directly above that total 100% when combined. First, determine total qualifying experience as a percentage of the specialized experience described above; then determine the education as a percentage of the graduate education described above; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of two years (36 semester hours) may be used when qualifying.
