Summary of Job Duties:

The Arkansas Food Innovation Center at the Market Center of the Ozarks (AFIC@MCO) is food entrepreneurial program housed in a 45,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art food processing and research facility designed to empower local food entrepreneurs and farmers. As part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, AFIC@MCO serves as a collaborative hub offering shared-use commercial kitchens, specialized processing capabilities, and technical assistance to support the growth of local food businesses.

The University of Arkansas is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial administrative manager to facilitate the daily operations of the AFIC@MCO and support a growing ecosystem of food entrepreneurs across Northwest Arkansas. This individual will play a key role in facility management, tenant engagement, and program delivery while fostering innovation and business success.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties
• Monitors the AFIC@MCO main email address and ensures enquiries are answered promptly
• Oversee web-based building access, ensuring seamless entry for authorized users and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Develops a network of volunteers willing to assist with co-manufacturing and other projects for AFIC@MCO.
• Coordinates ordering of office and building supplies and ensures the facility is maintained clean.
• Interact with Janitorial, pest control, and other contractors to ensure facility cleanliness.
• Maintains tidiness in the common areas.

Financial Support
• Supports the AFIC@MCO director of operations with billing for all client services and monitoring payment of invoices.
• Processes P-Card charges in Workday for MCO employees
• Processes requisitions and customer invoices
• Provides director of operations with financial reports on all AFIC@MCO grants and accounts

Event Planning and Coordination
• Coordinates events occurring at MCO, in particular those using the common areas and conference room.
• Assists external group with event organization.
• Maintains a calendar of events and shares it with MCO personnel.
• Organizes the Savor the Ozark Dinner Series in coordination with other team members.
• Seeks appropriate approvals for events requiring building ownership approval, including media visits.
• Participates in leading tours of the facility.
• Coordinates a facility sign in process to document MCO visitors.

Marketing
• Coordinates necessary updates to the website (with AES communications) and proposes improvements to our web presence.
• Coordinates social media posts featuring our services and educational opportunities and supervises the marketing intern if one is available.
• Develops flyers and promotional materials (with the help from AES communications and other AFIC@MCO team members).


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, agriculture, communications, management, hospitality management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an administrative assistant, project manager or event planning.

  • Competencies in accounting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Attentive to details

  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-service orientation
