What Will you Do?
As a Hospital Advanced Practice Professional at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. You’ll provide subsequent care and medication management to child, adolescent, and adult patients in a hospital setting and will collaborate with treatment staff regarding care and treatment of shared clients between programs. The Hospital Advanced Practice Professional must demonstrate excellent customer service and have enthusiasm about the program and the Pine Rest organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct services to clients and families through medication monitoring, education of medication purpose/side effects, diagnosis, and treatment options.
Works in various clinical settings with diverse patient populations.
Provides a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in both individual and group settings.
Obtain relevant health histories as needed.
Order and interpret finding of relevant diagnostic and laboratory tests required for the evaluation of complaints.
Identify presentations of medical disorders and related health problems.
Develop differential diagnosis and work with the client, family, and multidisciplinary behavioral health team to facilitate treatment.
Prescribe medications based on clinical indicators.
Assist with identifying, obtaining, and maintaining community linkages to necessary services in conjunction multi-disciplinary team.
Participate in clinical staffing and case consultations.
Participate in clinical supervision and consultation with collaborating physician.
Establishes a presumptive diagnosis, performs the general workup of the patient and is responsible under the physician's supervision for the management of the patient's problems following diagnosis.
Patient intake and complete medical history
Conduct physical exams as necessary and diagnose acute physical conditions or diseases
Responsible to manage chronic diseases
Makes complete entries in the medical record, write orders and record progress notes.
Initiates appropriate laboratory, radiologic, and special examination or tests required for the evaluation of complaints.
Monitor vital signs as reported by the unit
Provides counseling and instruction to patients regarding the patient's health- related problems.
As indicated by his/her training and experience, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by the supervising physician or designated.
What Does the Role Require?
Education/Experience:
Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan.
Certified in one of the following:
ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field
National Certification Corporation (NCC)
National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates
MSN or DNP in clinical and administrative nursing
Or similar.
