The Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation is seeking qualified applicants for part-time adjunct faculty positions in Special Education with Assessment focus. We are looking for candidates to teach graduate classes day and/or evening, face-to-face, online, and blended courses in the Educational Diagnostician discipline. Candidates must have a strong background in special education assessment, data-based decision making, evidence-based instruction as well as experience with teaching students with exceptionalities in elementary and/or secondary public U.S. schools. The adjunct faculty will prepare and teach the assigned class following a syllabus guideline, maintain appropriate records, assign earned grades, report needed data to the department, and complete all necessary development assessment information. Courses taught will depend on needs and will vary across semesters.
Required Education and Experience:
An earned Doctorate degree in education related field from a regionally accredited institution
18 graduate hours in Special Education
Educational Diagnostician certification
Experience teaching exceptional students in PK-12 settings
Experience working with students and families
Preferred Education and Experience:
An earned Doctorate degree in Special Education from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate hours in assessment, evaluation, or closely related field
Educational Diagnostician certification
Previous Educational Diagnostician experience in PK-12 settings
Previous teaching experience in higher education
Experience of special education clinical or practicum supervision
Once selected, applicants will be required to submit additional documents which include a cover letter, three original professional letters of recommendation, and official transcripts from each degree-granting institution. Unofficial transcripts are accepted by email before the hiring process is complete. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Search Committee at the address or email listed below. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
