About the Role

We have an exciting 12‑month max‑term, full‑time opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Salvos Store Finance team based in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accounts payable processing and associated activities, completed accurately and on time, to support The Salvation Army retail stores.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Process Accounts Payable invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and review and verify invoices for payment

  • Accounting: Prepare monthly accruals and month end journals as required

  • Reporting: Assist with the preparation of management reports, including month‑end and year‑end close

  • Provide support across Accounts Receivable and assist with project work as required

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a motivated and detail‑oriented individual with an interest in building or continuing a career in finance. This role would suit someone early in their accounting career, as well as candidates with experience in high‑volume invoice processing.

Key Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, or Diploma in Accounting

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
